Swine flu outbreak

SWINE FLU OUTBREAK

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia continues to work closely with the relevant authorities especially the Ministry of Health and the Immigration Department in monitoring the development of the pandemic.

As of the morning of 7 May there is no report of any Malaysian being infected by the virus either at home or abroad.

The Ministry is in constant contact with all our Missions overseas to monitor the development of the pandemic at the international level. As the numbers of infected cases and death toll had increased, Malaysians are advised to harness the precautionary measures including reviewing their travel plans to the affected countries. Thus, it is essential for those travelling abroad to keep themselves updated with the information published by the relevant authorities on the development of the pandemic.

The Ministry will continue to issue press releases from time to time on the development of the outbreak. The public is advised to report to the Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia at telephone number 03 – 8887 4047 / 03-8887 4570 (after office hours) should they be aware of or are informed of any cases by their friends, relatives or colleagues currently overseas.
